Do You Journal in Pen or Pencil

Do You Journal in Pen or Pencil

Everyone new to journaling can have many problems. One of them is do you journal in pen or pencil?

I do test both pen and pencil in journaling, and now I used pen only.
I loved to use pencil journaling as it's easy to use a pencil and I can alter my journal easily with an eraser.

But then it happened when I try to review my journals months later, they are all gone. Why is that?

A pencil is made from graphite. Graphite is a powder. Powder dusts off and puts a silver sheen everywhere as it slowly fades away if it isn't set. You can check sketchbooks you have to see the beginning of the ghosting issue. The more the pages are turned the more will rub off.

So as time goes by, the things you have written disappear. If you don't review your journals many years later as I do or don't want to pass journals down through generations, you can use a pencil or colorful pencils to make your journal more interesting.

But I am the type of guy who will review my own journals. This is why I started journaling. The words take me back to the days. So I choose pens that never fade away.
A ballpoint pen or a fountain pen is good. If you want a colorful journal, they can also realize your goal.

Here is my fountain pen collection. I use a leather pen case to hold them. You can really get addicted to it when you start journaling with fountain pens.
